Along with 49 others, Bob Black was nominated and selected as one of the top innovators whose work, creative talents, business acumen and professionalism are currently leading the way for industry, elevating the kitchen and bath trade.<\/p>\n<p>Bob Black has long recognized the value of fostering a corporate environment that encourages community service. Morris Black has set examples for community service through their involvement with various local organizations, and the family has upheld that tradition, along with the firm\u2019s role as a trendsetter.<\/p>\n<p>In 1976, Morris Black and Sons predicted the do -it-yourself trend by opening a free-standing home center to market building\u00a0 products\u00a0 directly\u00a0 to\u00a0 homeowners.\u00a0 In\u00a0 1986,\u00a0 the\u00a0 company\u00a0 consolidated\u00a0 its\u00a0 operations\u00a0 in\u00a0 a facility located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. An architectural millwork department was created to supply the commercial\u00a0 and\u00a0 institutional\u00a0 markets,\u00a0 giving\u00a0 Morris\u00a0 Black\u00a0 the\u00a0 ability\u00a0 to\u00a0 manufacture\u00a0 its\u00a0 own\u00a0 custom casework.
