BETHLEHEM, PA \u2013The Record Company, \u201cDaily Show\u201d comedian Roy Wood Jr. and The James Hunter Six are among the four new performances announced for the ArtsQuest Center\u2019s Musikfest Caf\u00e9 presented by Yuengling, located at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem<\/a>. Tickets for the shows go on sale Tues., Oct. 17, 10 a.m.<\/span>, to ArtsQuest Members and Friday, Oct. 20, 10 a.m.<\/span>, to the public at www.steelstacks.org<\/a> and 610-332-3378<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 12, 8 p.m.<\/span>,<\/strong> the Musikfest Caf\u00e9 presented by Yuengling welcomes Philadelphia Funk Authority. A Musikfest crowd favorite, Philadelphia Funk Authority<\/strong> specializes in a rich mix of funk, soul, R&B and ultimate party music and authentically recreates the undeniable grooves and tunes of artists ranging from Stevie Wonder and Earth Wind & Fire, to Bruno Mars and beyond. Combining excellent musicianship with an infectious sense of fun, this band is not to be missed! Tickets are $8-$10 advance and $10-$15 day of show.<\/p>\n

On. Feb. 8, 7:30 p.m.<\/span>,<\/strong> L.A.-based contemporary blues trio The Record Company<\/strong> takes the stage at the Musikfest Caf\u00e9. Following the release of its GRAMMY nominated debut album in 2016, this group received critical acclaim for hits like \u201cRita Mae Young,\u201d \u201cOff the Ground\u201d and \u201cNever Gonna Cry for Me.\u201d After touring with John Mayer, it followed its early success with the single \u201cBaby, I\u2019m Broken.\u201d Known for incendiary live sets, Rolling Stone Magazine hailed the band as \u201ccaught halfway between the stomp of mid-century rock & roll and the soulful kick of Delta blues, the Record Company kick up a raw, rootsy racket.\u201d Tickets for this show are $20-$30 advance and $25-$35 day of show.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been 10 years since Englishman James Hunter burst onto the scene with his U.S. debut \u201cPeople Gonna Talk,\u201d which topped the Billboard Blues chart, earning a Grammy-nomination and attracting universal acclaim from critics and his fans\u2014including Van Morrison, Sharon Jones and Allen Toussaint. Over the last decade, he has toured extensively around the world on the club, theater and festival circuits, steadily growing a dedicated audience comprised of hardened gig-goers, old-school baby boomers and young hipsters alike.\u00a0 His follow-ups, \u201cThe Hard Way\u201d and \u201cMinute By Minute,\u201d further cemented Hunter\u2019s reputation as a soul powerhouse. Comedian Roy Wood Jr. <\/strong>brings his \u201ccharismatic crankiness\u201d to the Musikfest Caf\u00e9 March 31, 8 p.m.<\/span><\/strong> Currently a correspondent on \u201cThe Daily Show with Trevor Noah,\u201d Wood is described by the Hollywood Reporter as \u201ca standout\u201d upcoming comedian. Prior to \u201cThe Daily Show,\u201d he spent three years on the TBS sitcom \u201cSullivan and Son,\u201d and he is also a featured comedian on \u201cConan,\u201d ESPN\u2019s \u201cSportsNation\u201d and Comedy Central\u2019s \u201c@Midnight<\/span>.\u201d After numerous standup and prank call albums, Wood recently released his first Comedy Central stand-up special \u201cFather Figure.\u201d Tickets for his show are $25-$29.<\/p>\n

Colin Quinn Musikfest Caf\u00e9 Show Rescheduled to Jan. 6<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Musikfest Caf\u00e9 show with comedian Colin Quinn, originally scheduled for Oct. 29<\/span>, has been rescheduled for Jan. 6, 7:30 p.m.<\/span> Tickets for the Oct. 29<\/span> date will be honored at the Jan. 6<\/span> performance. Tickets are $35-$40 and on sale now at www.steelstacks.org<\/a> and 610-332-3378<\/a>.<\/p>\n
