PBS39 to Premiere Close to Home: Changed by War<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The documentary features Vietnam War veterans as they share stories of war and recovery.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Bethlehem, PA, October 26, 2017 –<\/b> On Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m., the final documentary in the Close to Home<\/i> series, <\/span>Close to Home: Changed by War<\/a><\/i><\/span>, airs featuring local Vietnam War veterans. The 30-minute program features stories told by Vietnam War veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Hosted by award-winning entertainer Tony Orlando, the expressive film explores stories of war and survival told by the veterans themselves. <\/span><\/p>\n

Close to Home: Changed by War 0:30 Promo<\/a><\/p>\n

The program is complemented by two special events in November. Following Close to Home: Changed by War<\/i>, PBS39 presents The War Is Still With Us: A FOCUS Special Report<\/i>, which shares personal stories from Lehigh Valley residents and Vietnam-era veterans. In partnership with Lehigh University’s Africana Studies Program, PBS39 has also engaged multi-disciplinary students to produce content and conduct interviews with veterans, subject-matter experts, and leaders of the local anti-war movement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Close to Home<\/i> series was developed to provide information and hope to people who are struggling,” said Dr. Haddad, Close to Home executive producer. “Close to Home: Changed by War<\/i> shares stories of Vietnam Veterans who suffered from PTSD.\u00a0 At PBS39 we are grateful to share stories like these aimed to educate and inspire our viewers.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Close to Home<\/i> programming is part of PBS39 Check-Up<\/i>, a PBS39 healthcare initiative sponsored by Capital BlueCross.\u00a0 The Close to Home<\/i> series is made possible through support from Air Products and Lehigh Valley Health Network.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
