{"id":61817,"date":"2018-01-23T21:40:03","date_gmt":"2018-01-24T02:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=61817"},"modified":"2018-01-23T21:40:03","modified_gmt":"2018-01-24T02:40:03","slug":"bbt-donates-12500-kidspeace-programs-pennsylvania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=61817","title":{"rendered":"BB&#038;T Donates $12,500 to KidsPeace Programs in Pennsylvania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Featured Image:\u00a0<i>BB&amp;T\u2019s Lewis Cyr (right) presents the company\u2019s donation of $12,500 to Ann McCauley of KidsPeace at the organization\u2019s headquarters in Schnecksville, PA<\/i><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (<span data-term=\"goog_657489415\">January 23, 2018<\/span>)<\/strong> &#8211; KidsPeace announced that it received a $12,500 donation from BB&amp;T Corporation.\u00a0 The donation was presented by BB&amp;T Corporate Banking Group Manager Lewis Cyr to KidsPeace Vice President of Development Ann McCauley at a ceremony at KidsPeace\u2019s Schnecksville, PA corporate offices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPart of BB&amp;T\u2019s mission is to make the communities in which we work better places to live,\u201d Cyr said. \u201cWe appreciate the time and energy KidsPeace puts into supporting young people dealing with behavioral and mental health needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The donation includes $10,000 given to KidsPeace as part of BB&amp;T\u2019s participation in the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (ITC) program.\u00a0 Under EITC, participating companies who are subject to certain state taxes can claim a credit of up to 90 percent of contributions made to an eligible nonprofit organization with an educational component to their services.\u00a0 McCauley said the donation will support the education programs provided to hospital and residential treatment clients at KidsPeace\u2019s Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield, PA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe truly appreciate BB&amp;T\u2019s support for our efforts,\u201d she said.\u00a0 \u201cThis donation is a perfect example of how an outstanding company can help support our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cyr pointed out that the donation also included BB&amp;T\u2019s sponsorship of KidsPeace\u2019s annual golf tournament, and a $2,000 donation specifically to congratulate KidsPeace for its <em>\u201cBeInspired\u201d<\/em> initiative, an internal recognition program for its dedicated associates.\u00a0 \u201cThe entire KidsPeace team does so many positive things for children, families and our community, and we think it\u2019s great that the organization makes it possible for colleagues to recognize each other for those contributions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About BB&amp;T<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BB&amp;T is one of the largest financial services holding companies in the U.S. with $220.3 billion in assets and market capitalization of $37.0 billion as of Sept. 30, 2017.
