His campaign received nearly 3000 individual donations\u2014averaging $45 per donation\u2014an unprecedented number.<\/p>\n<p>The number of individual contributions is of great importance to Edwards\u2019 progressive campaign that is focused on grassroots efforts to represent the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am blown away. It confirms what I have strongly believed &#8211; This is not just a campaign, this is a movement of the people. Thanks to the donors, this truly is a people powered campaign,\u201d said Edwards.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign raised over $128,000 in the 4<sup>th<\/sup> quarter, over $185,000 to date, and finished the year with over $160,000 cash on hand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe Democrats will win back control of the House and state governments in 2018 if they field nominees who connect with voters with a bold, progressive, populist platform like Greg is running on,&#8221; said Stephanie Taylor, co-founder of the Progressive Change\u00a0Campaign\u00a0Committee, which hosted Edwards at a\u00a0National Candidate Training last summer and endorsed Edwards this quarter.\u00a0&#8220;This impressive amount of individual donations is a clear sign that the Greg Edward for Congress campaign resonates with the public. We know that when people are activated and inspired, they come out to vote and we win.&#8221; The PCCC has over 30,000\u00a0Pennsylvania members and PCCC members made\u00a0over 600 donations to the Edwards campaign.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to PCCC, the campaign has received national endorsements from the Justice Democrats, The Collective PAC, and locally from Bethlehem City Council Vice President Olga Negr\u00f3n, Representative Dwight E. Evans (PA-2) and Make the Road Action Pennsylvania.
