ALLENTOWN, PA \u2013 The Society of the Arts<\/a> (SOTA) of the Allentown Art Museum is proud to announce their exciting biennial fundraising project:\u00a0 the 2018 SOTA Idea House at HoudenHAL<\/em> (How-den-hall), translated in Dutch means \u201csustainable home\u201d.<\/p>\n Inspiring designs, innovative energy-efficient practices, and sustainable building materials will bring a decidedly modern approach to the 2018 Idea House. The house gets its power supplied from wind generation, solar energy, and geo-thermal wells. \u00a0Owned by Hersh and Robin Ruhmel, HoudenHAL<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0home to Ruhmel Contracting, Inc and The Design Studio,\u00a0has become the must see model home for many Lehigh Valley new home and remodeling clients. HoudenHAL is both LEED certified and National Association of Home Builders Green Home Certified.<\/p>\n This gorgeous, innovative house is pure inspiration for anyone seeking ideas for redecorating, renovating, adding an addition to their home, or building a new home.\u00a0 As a way of saying thank you for supporting SOTA, the Ruhmels are generously offering their new 2018 \u201cMaking Room for Mom\u201d collection of floorplans free to all attendees.<\/p>\n The designers participating include:\u00a0 Scott Rothenberger of Scott Rothenberger\u2019s PLACE, Sharon Kimmerle (Sharon Kimmerle Interior Design), Angela Carroll Ast (ABCA Designs \/\u00a0Decorating Den Interiors), Kelly Dunn (Kelly Dunn Home), Willy Byrd (Willy\u2019s Pe-Set Designs), Lia Papasimakis Fraccaro (House Splendid), Lauren Farrell (Kemble Richards Interior Design & Decoration), Jennifer Bonner and Shoshana Gosselin (Love Your Room), Ellen Gellar Elstein (Creative Closets), Nora Oswald (Oswald Paint & Paper), Williams Sonoma, Counter Culture, and Domaci.<\/p>\n The 2018 SOTA Idea House at HoudenHAL is located just 4 miles west of Fogelsville at 9905\u00a0Old 22, next to the New Smithville\/Lynneport Exit #45 of I-78<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tickets for the 2018 Idea House at HoudenHAL<\/em> are $20 and can be purchased at the door, or online at www.sotapa.org<\/a>.\u00a0 The Idea House will be open Wednesday<\/span><\/span>, Friday<\/span><\/span>, Saturday<\/span><\/span>, and Sunday<\/span><\/span> 10am-4pm<\/span><\/span>, with extended hours on Thursdays from Noon-8pm.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 It will be closed Monday<\/span><\/span> and Tuesday<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 The house is handicap and ADA accessible.<\/p>\n The Society of the Arts is also sponsoring a Celebration Party on Thursday, May 17th<\/sup> from 6-9pm at the newly built Centennial Banquet Center at Homewood Suites on Center Valley Parkway in Center Valley.\u00a0 Tickets for the Celebration Party are $40 and include food, a cash bar, music, and a raffle.<\/p>\n Proceeds from the 2018 Idea House at HoudenHAL<\/em> benefit\u00a0educational programs, the SOTA Print Fund and the SOTA Education Endowment at the Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley.\u00a0 Visit our Facebook<\/a> page or visit our website at www.sotapa.org<\/a> for additional information about the 2018 Idea House and SOTA.<\/p>\n #SOTA <\/p>\n Information Provided By: <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
