TIOGA<\/a>, an alt\/indie rock band from West Philadelphia (whose lead singer originally hails from Bethlehem), released a new single this Tuesday. “Young Man Now<\/a>” is the first single off of their debut full-length. TIOGA will be opening for emerging Philly rockers, Low Cut Connie at Musikfest Cafe on March 3rd<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Greg Adams supplying vocals and rhythm guitar, Derrick Dieso on lead guitar, Austin Paragas fielding bass and backing vocals, and Henri Tyler behind the drums, these four West Philly musicians come together to create TIOGA, their unique brand of indie rock, flavored with refreshing rhythms and memorable melodies. Drawing influence from artists such as The 1975, The Killers, Two Door Cinema Club, among others, TIOGA has been likened to \u201cearly 2000\u2019s new wave revival acts,\u201d while also drawing from The War on Drugs, The National, and Interpol.<\/p>\n

Though Philadelphia may be seeing a lot of attention for its recent Super Bowl win, its music scene is also a buzz. West Philly based alternative\/indie rock four-piece TIOGA <\/b>released their new song \u2018Young Man Now.\u2019<\/p>\n

TIOGA has shifted the gaze from their first EPs, Sycamores<\/i> (2016) and Circadian<\/i> (2017) to a more mature sound, exploring more of their influences while adding to their discography.<\/p>\n

\u2018Young Man Now\u2019 is the first single off of TIOGA\u2019s upcoming debut full-length. The song is about feelings of youth and invincibility, about ignorance or disregard for the future, and the underlying reality of impermanence. While there is a tonal shift in the song, the refrain “young man now” is meant to emphasize and enjoy the “now,” while wrestling with what comes after.<\/p>\n

The new single comes ahead of a busy few months for TIOGA; the band will be touring this spring, as well as releasing more singles prior to their first full-length.<\/p>\n
