{"id":6596,"date":"2015-06-23T16:22:03","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T20:22:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=6596"},"modified":"2015-06-23T16:23:04","modified_gmt":"2015-06-23T20:23:04","slug":"httpallentownjazzfest-org-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=6596","title":{"rendered":"Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley Wins National Quality Award &#8211; @BBBSLV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Allentown, PA \u2014 June 23, 2015 \u2014<\/strong> Big Brothers Big Sisters of America\u2019s Nationwide Leadership Council has awarded Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley its prestigious 2015 Quality Award. Only 12% of all Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliate agencies throughout the country were selected to receive the award, which is given to honor the leadership and staff of all agencies that provide each child served with the highest level of programming.<\/p>\n<p>There are multiple criteria which a BBBS affiliate agency must meet to receive the Quality Award.\u00a0 An agency must serve a minimum of 150 children while raising $150,000 in revenue. In addition, it must achieve other key quality metrics in regards to match strength and child safety.<\/p>\n<p>BBBSLV has yearly revenue of roughly $600,000 and has served nearly 350 children in one-to-one relationships in the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>Susan Bartels, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley\u2019s CEO, attributes the award to the tireless dedication of the agency\u2019s staff, board of directors and community partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarning the Quality Award is a top goal for every Big Brothers Big Sisters agency,\u201d said Bartels. \u201cOur team has worked relentlessly to better the lives of children in the Lehigh Valley. Each year, we set out to improve the quality of our programming, and we\u2019ve really hit a milestone this year.
