All City Middle School Band Concert<\/b><\/p>\n

This year on February 6th and 8th over 150 Middle School students, from the four middle schools practiced together for their All City Band Concert. Students had a total of 7 hours to learn 13 different pieces and to learn how to play as one group! This event is a great representation of the hard work, dedication, and talent of our students in the Bethlehem Area School District as well as the overwhelming support from our Administration and Parents! The students concluded the event by having a concert on February 8th for their friends and family.<\/p>\n

Volunteers Needed for the Advisory Board for the Northampton County Department of Human Services Children, Youth and Families Division<\/b><\/p>\n

The Advisory Board for the Northampton County Department of Human Services Children, Youth & Families Division is currently accepting new volunteers. Our purpose is to participate in, evaluate, and promote programs for children, youth and their families within the framework of the Acts of Assembly giving Northampton County and the Department of Public Welfare the responsibility and authority to administer a comprehensive program of social services for children and youth.<\/p>\n

The Advisory Board meets one evening, every other month at the Dept. of Human Services in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

Clearview Elementary School Students Mason Acosta and Adam Fuerhrer<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Marvine 5th Graders Visit to Vo-Tech<\/b><\/p>\n

Bethlehem Area- Vocational Technical School (BAVTS) gave a tour of their facility plus introductions of different work trades with hands on activities to Marvine’s fifth graders.<\/p>\n

The students were excited to learn the different trades available to learn at BAVTS. They visited engineering, plumbing, cosmetology, health care, cooking and many more. At the end, they all decorated cupcakes baked by BAVTS students. What a wonderful career day for our fifth graders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

2018 Outstanding Young Artist Competition (OYA)<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The Friends of Music of Bethlehem are holding auditions via video to name our 2018 Outstanding Young Artist. We invite you to inform your talented students about our Competition and encourage them to enter. The winner will be featured in a Spring Recital where the monetary award will be presented<\/p>\n

$600 for the Outstanding Young Artist<\/p>\n

(Judges for the Friends of Music reserve the right to withhold any or all prizes. The winner MUST perform in order to receive the monetary award.)<\/p>\n

BASD Bowlers Needed<\/b><\/p>\n

On March 4th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley is holding Bowl For Kid\u2019s Sake, a fundraiser that brings in thousands of dollars to help support our local mentoring programs. As part of this year\u2019s event, we are inviting our partnering school districts into a friendly competition. We would like to see a minimum of one team of Littles from each school district attend this year\u2019s Bowl For Kid\u2019s Sake event. In order to get them there, we are asking Bigs, School staff, and community partners to help us raise the funds necessary for the team. The Goal is $375. For every $375 raised one district team will be invited to participate in the event on March 4th. We have over 80 students from the Bethlehem School District matched in our program. We\u2019d love to see many of them represented on March 4th.<\/p>\n

The district that raises the most money will be awarded the 2018 District Trophy!<\/p>\n
