The five winners of the City of Allentown\u2019s \u201cCatch a Young Person Doing Something Right\u201d campaign will be honored at a reception on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 5:00pm<\/span> in the lobby of City Hall.<\/p>\n

Launched in 2012, the \u201cCatch a Young Person Doing Something Right\u201d campaign is a way to recognize young people who contribute to the well-being of Allentown.<\/p>\n

Mayor Ed Pawlowski said, \u201cWe are a diverse city that is served by many committed, caring and enthusiastic individuals.\u00a0 It is my honor to recognize these young people and thank the folks who took the time to bring them to our attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each of the honorees will receive certificates from the mayor.<\/p>\n

Awardees are encouraged to bring family members to share in the celebration and enjoy light food and refreshments.<\/p>\n

Winners are honored in the following categories: Volunteerism<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for assisting someone or improving a neighborhood or the community in general.\u00a0Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for doing more than following the rules, such as making a good decision even when peers chose otherwise. For showing leadership skills, critical thinking, problem solving, maturity or conflict resolution.\u00a0Scholarship<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Notable academic improvement and or academic excellence.<\/p>\n
