BETHLEHEM, PA — (April 11-15, 2018<\/span>)—\u00a0 Laughter is the best medicine as they say and The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts’ production of the very popular parody,\u00a0The Drowsy Chaperone,<\/em> is sure to tickle the funny bone. The Drowsy Chaperone\u00a0<\/em>is a musical with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison<\/p>\n

This production is directed by Diane Wagner Dobrowolski with musical direction by Neil Chaban, technical direction by Peter Wrenn-Meleck, and choreography by Kelly Bickert.\u00a0 Student, Bree Scott, is the Assistant Director.\u00a0 The production also features an exceptional cast.<\/p>\n

“We chose The Drowsy Chaperone<\/em> this year because our team was eager to have a good time while working so hard on the musical, and we thought it would be impossible not to with this fun-filled show, ” says Wagner-Dobrowolski. “The plot and the musical numbers are lively and endlessly amusing as “the Man in the Chair” leads us through his favorite 1920’s musical from the comfort of his apartment.”<\/p>\n

There are evening performances April 11-April 14 at 7pm<\/span>, and a matinee performance on April 15 at 2pm.<\/span>\u00a0 Tickets are $15 for adults, and $13 for seniors and students. The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts<\/strong>\u00a0is an audition-based, tuition-free, public charter school that provides a comprehensive curriculum for high school students, grades 9-12, who have a passion for the arts. The course catalog consists of more than 200\u00a0courses\u00a0ranging from traditional\u00a0core\u00a0courses\u00a0(math, science, social studies, world languages, etc.) to college-level\u00a0courses\u00a0in the arts.<\/p>\n

Close to 600 students from across Pennsylvania travel into Bethlehem daily to attend Charter Arts.\u00a0 The student body consists of students who hail from towns as far north as the Poconos, as far south as the Philadelphia suburbs, and as far west as Lancaster County.\u00a0 Many students travel two to three hours per day to attend this innovative school.<\/p>\n
