On June 20, 8 p.m.<\/span>, legendary folk singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot<\/strong> takes the stage at the Musikfest Caf\u00e9 presented by Yuengling. Recording more than 20 albums over 50 years, Lightfoot helped define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s with hits like \u201cEarly Morning Rain,\u201d \u201cIf You Could Read My Mind,\u201d \u201cCarefree Highway,\u201d “Beautiful,” “Song for a Winter’s Night,\u201d “Rainy Day People” and more. In 2012, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame joining the ranks of John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, Isaac Hayes, Carole King, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen. This year, Lightfoot will tour cross-country for “Gordon Lightfoot in Concert: The Legend Lives On”. The shows will feature his well-known hits as well as some deep album cuts for his die-hard fanatics, all of which are woven together with some of Lightfoot’s own behind the scenes stories and personal anecdotes about his musical career. Best known for singles like \u201cIf You Could Only See,\u201d \u201cYou Wanted More\u201d and \u201cOpen up Your Eyes,\u201d Tonic was a musical powerhouse, merging the raw honesty of rock to unabashed melody. Now the band is back in the studio after a two-year break, working on a follow up to its last album, Grammy-nominated Head On Straight<\/em>. In 1999, Vertical Horizon released its breakout album, Everything You Want<\/em>, which went on to sell more than two million copies. The second single off the CD, the title track \u201cEverything You Want,\u201d captured the number one spot on Billboard\u2019s Hot 100 and Adult Top 40 charts, and became Billboard\u2019s Most Played Single of 2000. Having carved out a page in the annals of music history, the band garnered further radio attention with \u201cYou\u2019re a God\u201d and \u201cBest I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning).\u201d Tickets for the show are $25-$35.<\/p>\n On July 27, 8 p.m.<\/span>, the Musikfest Caf\u00e9 welcomes singer-songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter<\/strong>. Over the course of her acclaimed career, Carpenter has sold more than 14 million records. With hits like \u201cPassionate Kisses\u201d and \u201cHe Thinks He\u2019ll Keep Her,\u201d she has won five GRAMMY Awards, two CMA awards, two Academy of Country Music awards and is one of only 15 female members of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her latest album, Sometimes Just The Sky<\/em>, was released in March.
