BETHLEHEM, PA\u2014 Jim Gaffigan, the king of family-friendly comedy, will deliver a belly full of laughs at Musikfest when he performs at the Sands Steel Stage Sun., Aug. 5, 8:30 p.m.<\/span> Tickets for the performance are $44-$69 and go on sale starting Tues., April 17, 10 a.m.<\/span>, to ArtsQuest Members and Fri., April 20, 10 a.m.<\/span>, to the public at www.musikfest.org<\/a> and 610-332-3378.<\/p>\n

One of the world\u2019s highest grossing stand-up comedians, Gaffigan is a GRAMMY nominated writer, actor, producer, author, top touring performer and multi-platinum-selling father of five. The creator and star of \u201cThe Jim Gaffigan Show,\u201d he\u2019s also guest starred on many television comedies and dramas, ranging from \u201cPortlandia\u201d and \u201cThe Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt\u201d to HBO’s cult hits \u201cFlight of the Concords\u201d and \u201cBored to Death\u201d and dramatic roles in \u201cLaw & Order.\u201d\u00a0 On the silver screen, his credits include \u201cThree Kings,\u201d \u201cHot Pursuit,\u201d \u201cSuper Troopers\u201d and \u201c17 Again,\u201d among many others.<\/p>\n

With more than 25 years in the industry, Gaffigan\u2019s remarkable career has been highlighted by writing the The New York Times Bestsellers \u201cDad Is Fat\u201d and \u201cFood: A Love Story;\u201d performing for Pope Francis and over one million festival attendees at the 2014 Festival of Families in Philadelphia; and being one of only 10 comics in history to sell out Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

Gaffigan\u2019s fifth one-hour stand-up special, \u201cCinco,\u201d premiered in January on Netflix. His upcoming films include \u201cChappaquiddick, \u201cYou Can Choose Your Family \u201cand \u201cDrunk Parents,\u201d as well as \u201cSuper Troopers 2.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Jim Gaffigan performance, supported by media partner B104, is the second-ever headlining comedy show at Musikfest following legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld\u2019s appearance in 2015. Other 2018 Sands Steel Stage headliners announced so far include Trombone Shorty\u2019s Voodoo Threauxdown Tour on Musikfest Preview Night Aug. 2<\/span>, STYX and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Aug. 3<\/span>, Brantley Gilbert Aug. 10<\/span> and Jason Mraz Aug. 12<\/span>.<\/p>\n

One of the largest music festivals in the nation, Musikfest features more than 500 performances on 16 stages throughout Bethlehem over 10 days. Proceeds from Musikfest 2018 will support ArtsQuest\u2019s free concerts and programming for the community year-round at the Banana Factory arts center and the SteelStacks arts and cultural campus. Dates for the 35th edition of the festival are Aug. 3-12<\/span>.<\/p>\n
