Anyone interested in taking part in this unique artistic experience can join ArtsQuest and MaGiK Animation Studios at the Banana Factory during SouthSide Arts &amp; Music Festival <span data-term=\"goog_503584278\">April 20, 6-8 p.m.<\/span> and <span data-term=\"goog_503584279\">April 21, 2-6 p.m.<\/span> to be a part of telling the story of SouthSide Bethlehem. The completed animated film will then screen at SteelStacks <span data-term=\"goog_503584280\">April 29<\/span> for the all-new Animation Day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-73632\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Animation-Day-Workshop2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Animation-Day-Workshop2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Animation-Day-Workshop2.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The screening is free to attend and features a showcase of Albrecht\u2019s work and a talkback discussing his nearly 30-year career in animation. Anyone interested in attending Albrecht\u2019s free Animation Day screening and talkback should reserve tickets in advance by calling the ArtsQuest Center Box Office at 610-332-3378 or visiting the Box Office in person.<\/p>\n<p>Albrecht is best known for his work as character creator and director of HBO Family\u2019s \u201cClassical Baby;\u201d producer of several \u201cSesame Street\u201d shorts; as well as animating for \u201cWonder Pets,\u201d \u201cA Child\u2019s Garden of Poetry\u201d and Weston Woods and Scholastic book adaptations of \u201cWhere The Wild Things Are,\u201d \u201cDooby, Dooby, Moo Cows That Type,\u201d \u201cHow The Dinosaurs Say Goodnight,\u201d \u201cJohn, Paul George &amp; Ben\u201d and \u201cThe Teacher From The Black Lagoon.\u201d His animated films have won numerous awards worldwide such as the Annecy Award for the best feature \u201cClose To You\u201d, the Peabody Award and four Emmys in an Animated Short Category.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the free screening and talkback with Albrecht, Animation Day will also celebrate traditional and modern animated films throughout the day. Films include Wes Anderson\u2019s 2009 film \u201cFantastic Mr. Fox\u201d at <span data-term=\"goog_503584281\">noon<\/span>, Hayao Miyazaki&#8217;s Academy Award-winning masterpiece \u201cSpirited Away\u201d at <span data-term=\"goog_503584282\">4:30 p.m.<\/span> and Ren\u00e9 Laloux&#8217;s 1973 animated sci-fi parable \u201cFantastic Planet\u201d at <span data-term=\"goog_503584283\">7:30 p.m.<\/span> Tickets for each film are $7.50 for ArtsQuest Members and $10 for the public. The event will also feature a selection of vendors including local artists displaying and selling their work.<\/p>\n<p>Albrecht\u2019s film and residency are part of ArtsQuest\u2019s \u201cArtists Among Us\u201d program, made possible by the Bucks County-based nonprofit Art of Preservation. The program is dedicated to honoring artists of various mediums living and working in Bucks County and the Lehigh Valley, to encourage, excite and support the aspirations of art-makers young and old.<\/p>\n<p>Past \u201cArtists Among Us\u201d include painter Todd Stone, fashion designer Pamela Ptak of \u201cProject Runway,\u201d broadcast journalist Melba Tolliver, GQ and Esquire fashion editor G.
