Anyone applying must be at least 20 years old, a U.S. citizen and must possess a high school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma.\u00a0 To be appointed, they must be at least 21 years old and must possess a valid Driver\u2019s License.\u00a0 Allentown police officers are not required to live in the city.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

Starting salary for an Allentown police officer is $57,313.\u00a0 The benefit package includes medical, dental and vision insurance for the officer and his or her family, and a prescription drug plan; paid vacation, personal days, funeral and sick leave; a pension plan and life insurance.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
