Free Concerts by Domenic Marte & Jose \u201cEl Canario\u201d Alberto Highlight Three Days of Music, Food and Family Fun<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

BETHLEHEM, PA–Three days of music, food and family fun including free concerts by bachata singer Domenic Marte and Latin vocalist Jose \u201cEl Canario\u201d Alberto highlight the 8th<\/sup> Annual \u00a1Sabor! Latin Festival presented by Cohen, Feeley, Altemose & Rambo June 22-24<\/span> at SteelStacks. The weekend will also feature arts and crafts, children\u2019s activities, Latin dance presentations, a traditional Latin Mass and World Cup matches airing on SteelStacks\u2019 outdoor television screens.<\/p>\n

On June 22, 8 p.m.<\/span>, \u00a1Sabor! welcomes Domenic Marte<\/strong>. Marte is a stateside bachata singer, songwriter and producer who made his solo debut in 2004 on Sony Discos and has a number of tropical airplay hits to his credit. Based in Massachusetts and of Dominican heritage, Marte released his full-length album debut Intimamente <\/em>in 2004 under the abbreviated name \u201cDomenic M.\u201d The album spawned a series of hits, beginning with “Ven T\u00fa,” a Top 10 hit on Billboard’s Latin Tropical Airplay chart. The follow-up singles “Ella Se Llev\u00f3 Mi Vida” and “La Quiero” also registered on the tropical airplay chart, going Top 20 and Top 40, respectively.<\/p>\n

The following evening, June 23, 8 p.m.<\/span>, Jose \u201cEl Canario\u201d Alberto<\/strong> takes the stage at the Levitt Pavilion. A master improviser, Alberto is one of Latin music’s most influential vocalists. Since attracting international attention as the musical director of Tipica ’73 in October 1977, he has gone on to record 10 exciting albums of salsa music with his New York-based band Jose Alberto “El Canario” y su Orquestra. While working with Tipica ’73, Alberto began collaborating with Latin musicians like Johnny Rodriquez, Sonny Bravo, Mario Rivera, Leopoldo Pineda, Nicky Marrero and Alfredo de la Fe. Forming his own band in 1983, he was one of the first artists signed to the Tropical division of Ralph Mercado’s RMM label.<\/p>\n

Other performers at \u00a1Sabor! include Hector Rosado y su Orchestra Hache, Grupo En Secuencia, Nacho Flores, Pancho Bongo y su Orquesta, Los Pleneros USA and DJ Jose Yunez. Also returning this year is the late-night dance party \u201cReggaeton Night\u201d on the Community Stage featuring DJ Mantekilla, DJ Nato and DJ Zabor Fri., June 22, 11 p.m.-12:30 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other \u00a1Sabor! highlights include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

-Delicious food for purchase including tacos, bacalaito (salt cod fritters), coxinha (croquettes) and pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) prepared by Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church and pinchos (shrimp, pork and chicken), rice with chicken and beans and seafood empanadillas made by the Hogar Crea Women\u2019s Center.<\/p>\n

-A traditional Latin mass in the ArtsQuest Center\u2019s Musikfest Caf\u00e9 presented by Yuengling June 24, 10-11 a.m.<\/span>, featuring regional mariachi band Mariachi Maya.<\/p>\n

– World Cup matches broadcast live on the Levitt Pavilion screen as part of Lehigh Valley SoccerFest presented by Bethlehem Steel FC:<\/p>\n
