{"id":77582,"date":"2018-05-26T12:19:40","date_gmt":"2018-05-26T16:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=77582"},"modified":"2018-05-26T12:19:40","modified_gmt":"2018-05-26T16:19:40","slug":"wdiy-88-1-fm-to-host-3rd-annual-homebrew-fest-on-june-23-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=77582","title":{"rendered":"WDIY 88.1 FM to Host 3rd Annual Homebrew Fest on June 23, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Over 40 Homebrewed Beers from Lehigh Valley Homebrewers Will Be Showcased <\/b><b><strong>at WDIY\u2019s Annual Festival and Fundraiser on Saturday, June 23<sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">rd<\/span><\/sup> at The Ice House<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bethlehem, Pa.\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0WDIY 88.1 FM\u2019s popular Homebrew Festival will return for its third year on <span data-term=\"goog_1749060690\">Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 2:00 &#8211; 5:00 p.m.<\/span> The event will be held once again at the Charles A. Brown Ice House in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 festival will feature more than 40 craft beers from Lehigh Valley homebrewers and will highlight the growing homebrew movement in the Lehigh Valley and around the country. In addition to beer tastings, the event will feature an educational table hosted by Bethlehem\u2019s Keystone Homebrew Supply, an upbeat music soundtrack, as well as food and soft drinks provided by Bethlehem deli and coffeehouse Deja Brew.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a community public radio station, showcasing the best the community has to offer with their original brews is a natural fit for us,\u201d said Shamus McGroggan, WDIY\u2019s Membership &amp; Development Manager. \u201cLast year showed a steady increase in interest, and we\u2019re looking forward to another great event this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There will be a variety of beers available at this year\u2019s festival including IPAs, porters, stouts, and more. Among the brews will be \u201cThree Brewligan Monks,\u201d a Belgian Triple; \u201cBerry Berry Quite Contrary,\u201d a Fuggles IPA infused with berries; and \u201cCherry Chocolate Wheat,\u201d a wheat beer. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite beers with the most popular homebrewers receiving prizes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the popular vote winner, one brewer will have their beer selected by a panel of judges to be brewed at Two Rivers Brewing Company in Easton along with the opportunity to be interviewed on WDIY about the brewing process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WDIY\u2019s 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual Homebrew Fest<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Early Bird tickets are $25 through June 17<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>General admission tickets will be $30 starting June 18<sup>th<\/sup> including at the door the day of the event.<\/li>\n<li>Designated Driver tickets are available for $5 both online and at the door the day of the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When: <\/strong><span data-term=\"goog_1749060693\">Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong> The Charles A.
