According to Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation, a new class of eight lifeguards is going through the American Red Cross certification process and is expected to be ready by next weekend.\u00a0 Their certification would then allow the city to open Mack and Irving pools.<\/p>\n
Persons interested in becoming a lifeguard can apply through the city\u2019s website at https:\/\/www.allentownpa.gov\/Human-Resources\/Employment-Openings<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bucky Boyle Park and Old Fairgrounds Playground Spray Parks have been open daily since May 26 and are open to residents and non-residents alike.<\/p>\n All facilities are open for recreational use from 12:00pm to 7:00pm<\/span> daily, weather permitting.\u00a0 Non-residents are able to use Cedar Beach Pool on weekdays only.<\/p>\n Additional Information regarding City of Allentown pools and spray parks can be found at www.allentownpa.gov\/pools<\/a>.<\/p>\n In case of inclement weather, please call the Recreation Inclement Weather Hotline at 610-437-7750 after office hours, or visit us on Facebook for postponement information at www.facebook.com\/allentownparkandrec<\/a>.<\/p>\n Information Provided By: <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
