BETHLEHEM, PA (July 12, 2018) – The Bethlehem Area School District recently released the first episode in its \u201cBuilt by Bethlehem\u201d podcast featuring students from both Freedom and Liberty high schools.<\/p>\n

The first season of the series, which is hosted by BASD Superintendent, Dr. Joseph J. Roy, focuses on the students and how they have taken advantage of opportunities that the community provides for them in school.<\/p>\n

The title of the podcast, \u201cBuilt by Bethlehem\u201d is meant to reinforce the idea that our schools are supported by our community and our schools then give back to the community through graduates that go on to live and work in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n

The interviews wind from students\u2019 beginnings in the district, whether they begin in Kindergarten or are transfer students from other countries to their planned futures post graduation.<\/p>\n

Roy said the podcast medium is one that allows for an even better look at what\u2019s going on within the district.\u201cI want to take advantage of multiple social media tools to share BASD news and interviews,\u201d he said. \u201cThe podcast allows for short, interesting conversations with students and BASD community members about their experiences with the district. Podcasts allow people to listen anytime, anywhere and are short enough to listen to while you are driving, running or walking around town.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first episode features Liberty High School senior Kaitlin Wagner, who recently graduated and plans to attend Northampton Community College to further her teaching aspirations.<\/p>\n

Future episodes in season one will be released throughout the summer of 2018. Additional seasons are already planned for the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the future, I hope the podcast includes conversations with not only current students, but BASD graduates as well as BASD teachers, staff and community partners who contribute so much to our schools,\u201d Roy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuilt by Bethlehem\u201d can currently be found by searching for \u201cBuilt by Bethlehem\u201d on iTunes, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, and anywhere else someone enjoys listening to podcasts.<\/p>\n
