ALLENTOWN, PA \u2014 Equality Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth\u2019s leading LGBTQ advocacy organization, has endorsed <\/span>progressive business owner <\/span><\/span>Mark Pinsley for State Senate in the 16<\/span>th Senatorial District.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI recognize that the rights of LGBTQ individuals and families need protection from discrimination,<\/span><\/p>\n

violence and inequality. That\u2019s why I am honored to receive the endorsement of Equality Pennsylvania,\u201d said Pinsley. \u201cI will fight for fairness in Pennsylvania and would join the LGBT Equality Caucus and stand with the LGBTQ community every day.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pennsylvania remains the only state in the Northeastern United States to permit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations for LGBTQ individuals and families.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy district is home to one of Pennsylvania\u2019s largest LGBTQ communities, and our local officials have made great strides in eliminating discrimination locally. In light of the changes in the U.S. Supreme Court, these are uncertain times for equality at the federal level. It is more important than ever to fight for<\/span><\/p>\n

expanded protections and real equality for members of Pennsylvania\u2019s LGBTQ community.\u201d Pinsley continued, \u201cIt is still legal to fire or evict someone based on who they love in Pennsylvania and that is simply wrong. I will fight to change that.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMark has pledged to work with his colleagues to pass legislation and advocate for fairness, equality,<\/span><\/p>\n
