Bethlehem, Pa. (August 22, 2018<\/em>)<\/strong> \u2013 Among the sharp pencils, fresh notebooks, and state-of-the-art technology, the Bethlehem Area School District students and staff will also see on the first day of school a new district logo.<\/p>\n The logo is comprised of a large gear inset with a stylized B and the letters BASD. The gear is a nod to the community\u2019s industrial past and a symbol of future innovation. The large B sits at an angle showing the gear rolling forward and indicating progress and momentum.<\/p>\n Superintendent Dr. Joseph Roy explained the design solidifies the powerful connection between the school district and the community which supports it.<\/p>\n \u201cOur research showed an immense amount of pride in the school and in the community,\u201d Roy said. \u201cOur community invests in our schools because our schools rebuild our community. Today\u2019s ninth grade biology students will be tomorrow\u2019s emergency room doctors.\u201d<\/p>\n Roy unveiled the logo to faculty and staff during the annual convocation at Liberty High School. The unveiling kicked off the district\u2019s new Built By Bethlehem<\/em> marketing campaign, which will include efforts to better connect with and honor the achievements of BASD alumni.<\/p>\n Bethlehem-based marketing firm Imagevolution designed the logo with input from district administration, faculty, staff, students, community members, and the school board.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Information provided to TVL by: <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
