He attended the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and the School of Visual Arts in NYC where he lived and worked as an illustrator.

As an illustrator, Stabin did an album cover for KISS. He designed nine commemorative stamps for the US Postal Service, featuring the images of composer Henry Mancini with the Pink Panther and eight American Scientists and many editorial pieces for clients such as Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek and The New York Times. After 25 successful years, he left the commercial art world and New York City and moved to Jim Thorpe, PA, where he made his imagination the client and created personal work.

His influences are the Italian Renaissance, 19th-century Japanese watercolor prints, 20th-century Advertising Art, Salvador Dali, M.C.Escher, Environmental issues and 268 West Broadway. His go-to muses are his wife, two daughters and the dictionary.

Stabin disarms his imagery with tongue in cheek humor. As an illustrator, he was trained to communicate to a broad audience. In that vein, his current work strives to engage, confound, enlighten and lead viewers to interpret what they see through the blend of his and their life’s realities.

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts’ Corpora Art Gallery hosts professional and student exhibits throughout the school year and participates in South Bethlehem’s First Friday celebrations with receptions for these exhibits.

To set up a private viewing appointment for the exhibit, please contact Lorie Reinhard at 610-868-2971 Ext. 3155.

ABOUT VICTOR STABIN
www.victorstabin.com

ABOUT THE LEHIGH VALLEY CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS (CHARTER ARTS):

Charter Arts is an audition-based, tuition-free, public charter school that provides a comprehensive curriculum for high school students, grades 9-12, who have a passion for the arts. Students major in one of eight artistic areas: dance, theatre, vocal music, instrumental music, literary arts, figure skating, production design or visual art.

Charter Arts’ rigorous curriculum fosters both academic and artistic excellence for its students.
