The Allentown Department of Parks & Recreation is planning two Movies in the Park showings this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cCoco\u201d<\/em> is scheduled for Friday, September 14<\/span> in the Arts Park at 5th<\/sup> & Court streets and \u201cStar Wars: Rogue One\u201d<\/em> is scheduled for Saturday, September 15<\/span> at Percy Ruhe (Alton) Park, located at 1519 Oxford Drive.\u00a0 Both shows will begin at dusk (approximately 7:45pm<\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cCoco\u201d<\/em> is rated PG and stars Anthony Gonzalez, Gael Garcia Bernal and Benjamin Bratt.\u00a0 It runs approximately 105 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, following a mysterious chain of events, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.\u201d<\/p>\n

This rescheduled showing of \u201cCoco\u201d<\/em> is in collaboration with the International Cultural Festival taking place in the Arts Park on Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15<\/span>. There is no rain date for this Movie in the Park showing.<\/p>\n

In \u201cStar Wars: Rogue One\u201d<\/em> former scientist Galen Erso lives on a farm with his wife and young daughter, Jyn. His peaceful existence comes crashing down when the evil Orson Krennic takes him away from his beloved family. Many years later, Galen becomes the Empire\u2019s lead engineer for the most powerful weapon in the galaxy, the Death Star. Knowing that her father holds the key to its destruction, Jyn joins forces with a spy other resistance fighters to steal the space station\u2019s plans for the Rebel Alliance.<\/p>\n

Free pre-movie activities will begin at 6:30pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

The approximately 133-minute \u201cStar Wars: Rogue One\u201d<\/em> is rated PG-13.<\/p>\n
