Works by Bethlehem Native to be featured in New York City<\/strong><\/p>\n

BETHLEHEM, PA (OCTOBER 5, 2018) — Six large abstract paintings by artist Tina Cantelmi (Agentis), a Bethlehem native, will be featured at the Clio Art Fair, 335 West 35th Street, New York, NY, Oct. 11 through Oct. 14.<\/p>\n

Clio Art Fair has become a noted platform for independent artists to be introduced to New York curators, collectors and galleries. The event opens with a VIP night October 11, \u00a0followed public sessions Friday October\u00a0 12, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday October 13, and Sunday Oct 14, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to learning how the New York market will react to my work,\u201d says Cantelmi, who received a BFA from the New York College of Ceramics, at \u00a0Alfred University, Alfred, New York. After graduation, the artist spent the first decade of her visual career as a fashion editor in New York City. There she served as a market editor for Women\u2019s Wear Daily, and worked for various national publications.<\/p>\n

In the Lehigh Valley, Cantelmi served as a feature writer and columnist for The Morning Call, Lehigh Valley Magazine, and other regional publications. \u00a0\u201cI returned to painting about a decade ago,\u201d says Cantelmi, who adds, \u201cMy paintings explore optimistic spaces, subjects and themes, bringing layers of light, fields of color, and often, a color-charged palette to imaginative compositions to either rev or calm the senses. I prefer to work in larger formats as a means to maximize the effect of \u201cbeing there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The artist\u2019s paintings are in private and corporate collections from Boston to Brooklyn, Kentucky, \u00a0Manhattan, Pennsylvania, Seattle, Texas and South Florida.\u00a0 Her work was featured in the spring exhibit at Bethlehem House Gallery.<\/p>\n
