rel=\"noopener\"><b>Story &amp; Photographs by Diane Fleischman<\/b><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIt was a fully packed house for America\u2019s beloved brother and sister act, Donny and Marie\u2019s Christmas show at The Sands Wednesday night.\u00a0 On a twelve date Christmas tour, Donny and Marie Osmond have left their second home, their residency at The Flamingo, in Las Vegas, to sing their favorite Christmas songs and share some of their Christmas memories.<br \/>\n<div id=\"su_carousel_69f3c510e924d\" class=\"su-carousel su-carousel-centered su-carousel-pages-yes su-carousel-responsive-yes su-lightbox-gallery\" style=\"width:100%\" data-autoplay=\"3000\" data-speed=\"600\" data-mousewheel=\"true\" data-items=\"3\" data-scroll=\"1\"><div class=\"su-carousel-pagination\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>The corners of stage were set with a fully decorated Christmas tree and a fireplace with stockings hung with care.\u00a0 The show opened as Donny and Marie walked down the stair risers on stage, and joined by their dance troupe, performed \u201cWe Need a Little Christmas\u201d followed by \u201cAll I Want For Christmas is You\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 For Donny and Marie, who have endured over five decades of entertainment, this evening was going to be more than everyone\u2019s favorite Christmas songs.\u00a0 At different moments in the show, we saw flashback videos of Donny, age \u00a05, then Marie age 3, as they spoke with Andy Williams.\u00a0 Video montages were created to show portions of The Osmond family Christmases, as well as clips from their televised Christmas Specials.\u00a0 And for any true Osmond fan, we will never forget the Donny and Marie television show, where video snippets were also shown.<\/p>\n<p>What made this show a lot of fun was the massive amount of audience participation.\u00a0 Early on, an audience member, Craig, was brought onstage to sing \u201cBlue Christmas\u201d with Marie, and later in the show Donny gave away his new CD release to a randomly chosen fan.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t happen once,\u00a0there were actually several times that Donny and Marie walked through the audience hugging their fans and shaking their hands.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been over a decade since the Osmond\u2019s\u2019 parents passed on, \u201c My father served in World War II, and always told us in every show to honor those who fought to give me the freedom I have\u201d, Marie stated as she performed \u201cBoogie Woogie Bugle Boy\u201d.\u00a0 In another tribute, Marie spoke about her work with the Children\u2019s Miracle Network, and at one point became very emotional about the cause, and the millions of children and families that have received assistance, she became a bit teary eyed as she performed, \u201cMy Prayer\u201d for them.\u00a0 And with such great emotion and vocal range, paired with snapshots of patients and families, it would be my guess that there wasn\u2019t a dry eye in the house either.<\/p>\n<p>Donny paid tribute to Andy Williams, as he described a childhood memory watching Williams from the side of the stage, in \u201cMoon River\u201d, and gave a powerful performance.\u00a0 He stated that the song is featured on his new CD, which by the way is his 60<sup>th<\/sup> musical release.\u00a0 For a man who is about to turn 61 years old this month, it almost seems surreal to have released 60 albums, but it\u2019s all true.
