Comedian Dave Landau headlines the annual\u00a0\u2018Dry Humor: Stand-up for Recovery\u2019\u00a0show at SteelStacks Jan. 24, 7:30 p.m. The show is presented by Easton native and nationally touring comedian Liz Russo. A celebration of Russo\u2019s own 8-year sober anniversary, the event, which features all clean and sober performers, serves as a fundraiser to generate much needed funds for local addiction treatment efforts. He\u2019s appeared on Comedy Central\u2019s \u201cLive at Gotham\u201d and “Gotham Comedy Live” on AXS TV, and was a finalist on season 8 of \u201cLast Comic Standing.\u201d He\u2019s become a regular on the nationally-syndicated \u201cBob & Tom\u201d radio show and was honored as one of the top 21 club comics of today at HBO\u2019s Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Landau is open about his past drug abuse. His father died of brain cancer when he was young, and Landau describes \u201ccoping\u201d with drugs and alcohol as a teen. A portion of proceeds from event ticket sales will be donated to Stepping Stones Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit that helps individuals struggling with addiction and their families. The organization raises funds to provide housing, education and community resources to individuals suffering from addiction to ensure a lifelong successful recovery.<\/p>\n Dry Humor takes place in the Fowler Blast Furnace Room of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. This show will contain adult language and\/or situations. Anyone coming in between the ages of 13 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nA regular of the New York comedy scene, Holbert can be found in the city\u2019s hottest comedy rooms every night. He has performed on Sirius XM and hosts the internationally syndicated TV show \u201cThe Movie Loft.\u201d He has appeared on TruTV\u2019s \u201cHack My Life\u201d and “Mysteries at the Museum” on the Travel Channel. Holbert is strong in his recovery, however he still loves junk food. “I may be sober from booze eight years, but I still try to get tipsy on Zebra Cakes,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
\nInspiring and self-deprecating in turn, Russo shares her life\u2019s struggles and triumphs in her act. She is the reigning three-time winner of Best Comic of the Lehigh Valley named by Lehigh Valley Style Magazine. Her personable and wry delivery has made her a hit at comedy clubs and festivals across the country, scoring opening slots for celebs like Colin Quinn, Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Norton and Lisa Lampanelli.
