Allentown, Pa., December 12, 2018\u2014The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation (LVCF) announced that ten area nonprofit organizations have been selected to each receive a $10,000 grant as part of the Nonprofit Effectiveness Pilot program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The program is part of our new three-pronged approach to Foundation-directed, or \u201cdiscretionary,\u201d grants in the Lehigh Valley. \u201cThe Nonprofit Effectiveness Pilot is an investment in the future of the nonprofit sector by targeting support to strengthen governance, management, and operations of nonprofit organizations so they can prosper and be impactful for years to come,\u201d said Bernie Story<\/b>, president and CEO of the Community Foundation.\u00a0\u201cLVCF and other funders rely on healthy, resilient organizations for achieving progress in solving the Lehigh Valley\u2019s most pressing issues.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMany nonprofits routinely face organizational challenges, from major staff transitions to capacity gaps,\u201d noted Megan Briggs<\/b>, LVCF\u2019s director of community investments. \u201cOften nonprofits are forced to forgo investing in important capacity building in order to maintain or increase service levels.
