AMERICAN RED CROSS of the GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY, Allentown – <\/b>Help us SOUND THE ALARM AND SAVE LIVES by volunteering to share fire-safety tips and install free smoke alarms (by appointment throughout Allentown) from 8:30am-2:30pm on Saturday, April 27. Equipment, supplies, training (no prior experience needed), even light breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided. The Garden is planted with heirloom seeds and plants and everything is grown organically. Plants, seeds, and compost are provided, and gardeners share fresh produce from the garden. SECOND HARVEST – COOKING MATTERS PROGRAM – <\/b>Volunteers are needed for their “Cooking Matters Program,” a six-week cooking\/nutrition educational course, offered to low income families at sites in Allentown and Bethlehem. Must commit to 3 hours per week for 6 consecutive weeks. A 2-hour online training and a 1 hour in-person training are required.
