Bethlehem, PA\u2014<\/span>All five Northampton County Rotary Clubs will again prepare thousands of meals for local families in need as part of Outreach Hunger 2019. <\/span><\/p>\n

More than 200 Rotary members and other volunteers will gather 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 9 at Moravian College\u2019s Haupert Union with the goal of assembling 40,000 dry meals that will be distributed to local agencies and food banks. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>One in five children in America face food insecurity. And it is happening right here in our community,\u201d <\/span>said Ron Searfoss, Rotary Assistant Governor, Area 2.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very hard for children to learn in school if they are hungry,\u201d he said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bethlehem Morning Star, and the Bethlehem, Nazareth, Easton and Saucon Center Valley rotary clubs each determine the distribution of its share of the meals which last year included the Salvation Army, Hispanic Center, Northeast Ministries, Grace Church, New Bethany Ministries and St. Joe\u2019s Community Center, and the Central Moravian and Nazareth food banks. Outreach Hunger aligns with the Rotary Vision: \u201cTogether, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
