(Eastern Pennsylvania)\u00a0Join the Berks County Wine Trail in welcoming the arrival of Springtime to our region!\u00a0Together, we\u2019ll Uncork A Taste of Spring!<\/a> at each of eleven area wineries with new release wines that are as fresh as the new season.\u00a0This event also marks the Berks County Wine Trail\u2019s 15-year anniversary weekend, making this a special celebration of Spring.<\/div>\n

Many of the wines featured for this event will be our first tastes from fruits picked in the 2018 Fall harvest.\u00a0Attendees visiting member wineries will enjoy new wines, bursting with flavor, on Saturday April 27th and Sunday April 28th, noon to 5 PM both days.\u00a0This promises to be an event weekend filled with the spirited, carefree Tastes of Spring on the Berks County Wine Trail!<\/div>\n

Deerfoot Winery,Maidencreek Township.\u00a0Tis the season for new wine releases and Deerfoot has 3 wines we\u2019re excited for you to try!\u00a0“In Season” returns for 2019 as a sweet red made from Norton grapes.\u00a0The “In Season” blend changes each year, making its arrival each Spring extra special.\u00a0Joining “In Season” is a dry white wine made from oaked Chardonel.\u00a0Deerfoot will also offer a pre-release sneak taste of their 2017 Cabernet Franc Reserve before its official release later this Fall!<\/div>\n

Stonekeep Meadery, Fleetwood.\u00a0The wait is over!\u00a0Stonekeep Meadery will release customer-favorite “Pea Pod Pixie”, their fruity, semi-sweet blend of the Steuben and Fredonia grapes.\u00a0You\u2019ll also delight with a White Sangria, full of tropical fruit goodness and perfect for the coming warmer weather.<\/div>\n

Weathered Vineyards, New Tripoli.\u00a0Enjoy a “Taste of Spring” at Weathered where they will uncork their 2017 Traminette.\u00a0This white wine abounds with the floral aromas of spring and flavors of lychee, apricot, honey and apple.\u00a0Weathered is serving this fabulous new release with a spicy snack mix.\u00a0Even better, Traminette will be 15% off all weekend in celebration of the wine trail\u2019s 15th anniversary.<\/div>\n

Stone Barn Cellars & Winery, Spring City.\u00a0It\u2019s Springtime and Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner!\u00a0Stonebarn will be serving their newly released 2017 Vidal Blanc paired with Mexican Street Corn salad.<\/div>\n

Manatawny Creek Winery, Douglassville.\u00a0Welcome Spring at Manatawny Creek Winery where they\u2019re introducing a brand new wine called Love.\u00a0This newcomer wine is a sweet raspberry and grape blend sure to become everyone\u2019s favorite.\u00a0And what better to serve with it than Raspberry Fool, a fluffy whip of wine, sweet cream, and red raspberries.<\/div>\n

Ridgewood Winery, Birdsboro.\u00a0Ridgewood will release their 2018 Pennsylvania Riesling, a barely sweet white wine with aroma of citrus and light flavors of pineapple and lemon peel.\u00a0The fragrance, balanced palate, and light acidity are completed by a pleasing crispness characteristic to Riesling wines.\u00a0This is Ridgewood\u2019s best Riesling to date.<\/div>\n

Setter Ridge Vineyards, Kutztown.\u00a0Wait until you taste the late harvest Pinot Gris Reserve at Setter Ridge!\u00a0The grapes used in this wine spent a few extra weeks on the vine, resulting in a naturally sweeter wine with no sugars added.\u00a0Notes of honey and caramel on the nose lead to a rich and flavorful taste of ripe melons and sweet pears.<\/div>\n

Stoudt\u2019s Winery, Shartlesville.\u00a0Visitors at Stoudt\u2019s Winery are in for a special treat when they sample the Shiro Plum Wine.\u00a0Enjoy the old-fashioned pleasures of fresh country air, sunshine, and traditional orchard-fruit wines with this palate pleaser made from beautiful Japanese plums grown on Stoudt\u2019s nearby farm.<\/div>\n

\u201cA Taste of Spring\u201d is a free sampling event on the Berks County Wine Trail; no tickets or reservations needed.\u00a0Some wineries may also offer sample pairings with their tasting of the new vintages, but the stars of this event are the wines themselves.\u00a0Most wineries charge a tasting fee for their full wine menu.<\/div>\n
