The Allentown Bureau of Recycling & Solid Waste is gearing-up for a busy spring clean-up and summer growing season!<\/p>\n

The Allentown Yard Waste Site at 1401 Oxford Dr. (Oxford Drive and Fish Hatchery Road) will open for the season for city residents on Monday, April 1.\u00a0 Residents are required to show identification.<\/p>\n

The hours are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mondays \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 12:00pm to 4:00pm<\/p>\n

Wednesdays\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8:00am to 6:30pm or dusk whichever comes first<\/p>\n

Fridays \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 12:00pm to 4:00pm<\/p>\n

Saturdays \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a08:00am to 3:00pm<\/p>\n

Curbside yard waste collection will begin the week of Sunday, March 31.\u00a0 Residents should place yard waste out on their recycling night.\u00a0 Paper lawn and leaf bags which have caused contamination issues are no longer required.\u00a0 Residents are encouraged to place all yard waste in a container (separate can from your trash).\u00a0 Residents are instructed not to mix any trash or any other debris with the yard waste.\u00a0 White yard waste stickers are available for cans.<\/p>\n

The city offers electronics recycling by appointment. To obtain an appointment, please contact the Recycling Bureau at 610-437-8729.<\/p>\n

The city also offers paper shredding services at the yard waste facility every Wednesday morning and every third Saturday from 8:00am to 11:00am. Call 610-437-8729 to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n

The city will offer mulch loading services every Wednesday during the season from 8:00am to 12:00pm.\u00a0 Loading services will be available for a pre-paid fee of $12 per bucket load.\u00a0 There is no cost for self-loading material.\u00a0 Payment must be made at the Recycling & Solid Waste Office, 641 S 10th<\/sup> St. prior to loading.<\/p>\n
