{"id":88933,"date":"2019-05-22T12:19:09","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T16:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=88933"},"modified":"2019-05-22T12:19:09","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T16:19:09","slug":"allentown-summer-concert-series-begins-may-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=88933","title":{"rendered":"ALLENTOWN SUMMER CONCERT SERIES BEGINS MAY 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More than 30 concerts are scheduled for the Allentown Department of Parks &amp; Recreation\u2019s 2019 Summer Concert Series.\u00a0 The Macungie Band opens the season on Friday, May 24 at 7:30PM at historic West Park. <u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The series runs in various city parks.\u00a0 Thousands of city residents and visitors enjoy these concerts from May to September. Many of the concerts are held at West Park. <u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The lineup includes the Allentown Band, Dave Neith Orchestra, LV Italian Band, Marine Band, Municipal Band, Pioneer Band, The Sweet Adelines and the Royalaires.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>There are satellite concerts scheduled at AHEPPA, East Side Youth Center, Midway Manor and Phoebe Allentown.\u00a0 A few themed concerts on the docket, including a children\u2019s concert, Christmas concert, flag day, great American composers, pops concert, Ray Becker, salute to Bert Meyers, senior specials, summer\u2019s ending and a vocals concert.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>All concerts are free and may have refreshments available for sale.
