(BREINIGSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA, May 24th<\/sup>, 2019)\u00a0<\/strong>The historic 44th<\/sup>season of international track racing\u00a0at the legendary Trexlertown velodrome kicks off on May 31st<\/sup>and launches a season of racing unlike\u00a0any other in recent memory.\u00a0\u00a0With 18 nations and more than 135 riders taking to the famed \u2018concrete crater\u2019\u00a0the weekly racing will see the world\u2019s top male and female competitors kicking off their quests for the\u00a0valuable international qualifying points needed to qualify for the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo.<\/p>\n In what is setting up to be a battle of local Olympic hopefuls looking for strong rides on their home\u00a0track and USA National Team riders taking on strong foreign teams from the track racing power house\u00a0nations of Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, France and Canada among others, local racing fans will\u00a0be treated to a preview of the upcoming Olympic matchups.<\/p>\n In the men\u2019s field, multi-time World Champion, Francois Pervis makes his first return to Trexlertown\u00a0since his silver medal winning ride in the Junior World Championships in 2001.\u00a0\u00a0Joining him on the track\u00a0this summer is a multi-time T-Town competitor and former World Champion and Olympic Medalist,\u00a0Shane Perkins.\u00a0\u00a0Perkins who currently represents Russia formerly competed under the Australian flag.<\/p>\n Making his VPCC debut, British star and two-time Gold Medalist, Philip Hindes headlines the Great\u00a0Britain contingent and will surely factor into all the Sprint events.<\/p>\n Riding for the US National Team Ashton Lambie, famous for converting from gravel racing to the track,\u00a0his mustache and his world-record setting ride in the Individual Pursuit, will take on the endurance events\u00a0alongside his compatriots Colby Lange, Daniel Holloway, Gavin Hoover, Eric Young, Adrian Hegvary,\u00a0Greg Daniel and local hero Shane Kline.<\/p>\n On the women\u2019s side local coach and hero, World Champion Kim Geist headlines an equally All-Star\u00a0field of women that includes her USA compatriots Maddie Godby \u2013 a two-time World Cup winner coming straight\u00a0off a block of Keirin racing in Japan, Kendall Ryan, Christina Birch, Mandy Marquardt,\u00a0and young phenom Megan Jastrab.<\/p>\n The US women will face tough competition from a host of international stars including Olympian and\u00a0T-Town alumnus New Zealander Natasha Hansen, Canadian Olympic and World Championship Medalist\u00a0Allison Beveridge, and World Championship Silver Medalist and Pan American Champion Martha Bayona from Tickets are on sale now (https:\/\/thevelodrome.com\/ Lehigh Valley fan favorite \u2013 Fireworks Nights sponsored by Schmoyer Funeral Home and JS Burkholder\u00a0Funeral Home \u2013 are scheduled for June 7th<\/sup>and August 23rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n For more than 40 years, track cyclists from around the region, the United States and the World have\u00a0taken to the concrete surface of the legendary Valley Preferred Cycling Center.
