In the Spring\/Summer 2019 edition, the special section <em>\u201cFoster Care at 40\u201d <\/em>looks at fostering from a variety of perspectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An examination of how the service has evolved from the 1970s to today<\/li>\n<li>Views of a Member of Congress on how policy initiatives can support families better<\/li>\n<li>An hour-by-hour description of \u201ca typical day in foster care\u201d (proving there\u2019s no such thing), by the voices behind the popular Foster Talk blog series<\/li>\n<li>And ideas and suggestions from the most important people in the discussion \u2013 foster kids<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The issue also examines an innovative approach to treating both addiction and underlying mental health conditions, along with an examination of gender equality issues in schools and more.<\/p>\n<p>The new issue is available now on the redesigned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.healingmagazine.org\/\">www.healingmagazine.org <\/a>site, which allows users to download the whole issue or selected articles, and subscribe to receive paper copies of future issues.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The latest issue of <em>Healing Magazine <\/em>is also the subject of the next \u201cConversations with KidsPeace\u201d podcast; to subscribe to the podcast, go to iTunes or Google Play and search \u201cConversations with KidsPeace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>KidsPeace also announced that starting June 15, <em>Healing Magazine <\/em>will be carried in the magazine racks of the Barnes &amp; Noble Booksellers store at the Promenade Shops in Center Valley, PA, as a free community publication. It\u2019s the first time in the 23-year history of <em>Healing Magazine <\/em>that it will be available in a retail setting.<\/p>\n<p><em>Since 1882, KidsPeace has been building on its expertise to give hope, help and healing to children, adults and those who love them.
