Crews from the city of Allentown Streets Bureau will be collecting leaves into December.\u00a0 Residents are reminded to rake only leaves into the street, a foot from the curb, for pick up by vacuum trucks.\u00a0 Call the Street Cleaning Hotline at 610-437-7636<\/a> or visit www.allentownpa.gov\/Public-Works\/Streets\/Leaf-Removal-Program<\/a> for daily updates.<\/p>\n

As of December 1, residents are urged to bag their leaves in plastic garbage bags for pick up by the Streets Department.\u00a0 Residents must call the Bureau of Streets at 610-437-7638<\/a> prior to putting their bags at the curb.\u00a0 Please allow a few days for the pick-up of the bagged leaves.\u00a0 Bags that have a mixture of leaves and garbage WILL NOT be picked up.<\/p>\n

The last week of curbside yard waste collection is the week of Thanksgiving, Sunday, November 22 to Friday, November 27.\u00a0 Items should be placed in containers on your recycling night.<\/p>\n

The yard waste site will close for regular season hours on Monday, November 23, 2015.\u00a0 The site will be open on Saturday, December 5 from 10am to 12pm.<\/p>\n
