{"id":92925,"date":"2019-06-13T17:06:07","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T21:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=92925"},"modified":"2019-06-13T17:07:45","modified_gmt":"2019-06-13T21:07:45","slug":"pbs39-honors-3-neighborhood-heroes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=92925","title":{"rendered":"PBS39 Honors 3 Neighborhood Heroes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><strong>The 2019 Good Neighbor Awards will honor Neighborhood Heroes David Jaindl, Beverly Bradley and Alan Jennings.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong>Bethlehem, Pa \u2013 June 13, 2019<\/strong> \u2013 PBS39 will honor an impressive group of local heroes on November 1 at its annual Good Neighbor Awards, given each year in the spirit of its beloved Fred Rogers of Public Broadcasting\u2019s program, <em>Mister Rogers Neighborhood<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Good Neighbor Awardees are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Founders Award<\/strong>: David M. Jaindl owner of Jaindl Farms, Jaindl Turkey Sales, Jaindl Land Co., Jaindl Realty, Jaindl Beverage, Schantz Orchards, and Hitters Edge. (left)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arts &amp; Education<\/strong>: Beverly Donchez Bradley, president of the Lehigh Valley Cops \u2018n\u2019 Kids Childrens\u2019 Literacy Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Youth &amp; Family<\/strong>: Alan L. Jennings, executive director of the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n<p>The spirit of Fred Rogers\u2019 legacy of education, community, and compassion continues today and his belief that we should \u201calways look for the helpers\u2019 inspires this award recognizing those \u2018Good Neighbors\u2019 who assist with the PBS39 mission to promote civic engagement and to fulfill the regional needs of the Greater Lehigh Valley through dynamic communication platforms and resources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the fourth year PBS39 will recognize our Good Neighbors,\u201d Tim Fallon, CEO of PBS39, said. \u201cThe largest impacts are made when organizations and individuals band together for a common vision of a vibrant society. It is essential to celebrate those who move our community forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Good Neighbor Awards will begin at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the University Center at DeSales University in Center Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Previous Good Neighbor Award recipients include Father Daniel G. Gambet, OSFS, Dr. Joseph J. Roy, Marci Ronald-Lesko, Kassie Hilgert, Dr. Karen Walton, the Hon. Maxwell Davison, Barry Dobil, Nancy Dischinat, Jessica Lee, and Joseph Martocci, PPL Corporation, and Air Products and Chemicals Inc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About PBS39<\/strong><br \/>\nPBS39 acts as the catalyst to promote civic engagement, and to fulfill the regional needs of the Greater Lehigh Valley through its dynamic communication platforms and resources. PBS39 Reporter Corps journalists are embedded in the ten counties that make up the Greater Lehigh Valley. This campaign is working to ensure all Lehigh Valley students read on grade level by the end of third grade by 2025.
