ALLENTOWN, PA\u00a0 | \u00a0June 21, 2019 \u00a0 <\/strong>The Allentown Arts Commission announces that nominations are now being accepted for the Allentown Arts Commission\u2019s 31st Annual Arts Ovation Awards Celebration to be held in Downtown Allentown on September 26, 2019. The event celebrates outstanding achievements in the Arts.<\/p>\n \u201cRecent nominees are setting a new standard for innovation, dedication and creativity in our city,\u201d said Jane Heft, Allentown Arts Commission Chair. \u201cIt is an incredible achievement to be nominated alongside this passionate and prestigious group.\u201d<\/p>\n The public is invited to submit their nominations in writing or via email in the following six categories:<\/p>\n OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN VISUAL ARTS:<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0May be an individual and\/or Arts organization who has made an impact in any form of Visual Arts in Allentown.<\/p>\n OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN PERFORMING ARTS: <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0May be an individual and\/or Arts organization who has made an impact in any form of Performing Arts in Allentown<\/p>\n OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN LITERARY ARTS:\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>May be an individual and\/or Arts organization who has made an impact in any form of Literary Arts in Allentown.<\/p>\n OUTSTANDING SERVICE: \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>May be an individual or organization who has had a major impact on the Arts through exceptional service, volunteerism, or leadership in Allentown.<\/p>\n OUTSTANDING TEACHER IN THE ARTS<\/em><\/strong>: \u00a0<\/em>An individual who has taught the arts in Allentown K-12 or higher education institutions, and had an outstanding impact on their students.<\/p>\n EMERGING ARTIST:\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>An award given for an emerging talent in any form of Allentown Arts.<\/p>\n Only fully completed nomination forms will be considered. Honoree must attend the Arts Ovation event on September 26, in person, to accept the award.<\/p>\n Eligibility Guidelines:<\/strong>\u00a0 Individuals or Arts organizations whose achievements have had a significant and positive impact on the citizens of Allentown and the quality of life in Allentown\u2019s Arts and Cultural communities. Award recipients will be selected from the nominations received by the Arts Ovation Committee.<\/p>\n Nominations must be submitted by no later than July 24, 2019 by 4pm. Each must contain the name, address, phone number and email of the nominee, as well as the specific category of the nominee.\u00a0 A summary is requested stating why the nominee meets the qualifications for the award.\u00a0 Name, address, phone number and email of the nominator are also requested.
