{"id":93277,"date":"2019-07-01T15:57:28","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T19:57:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=93277"},"modified":"2019-07-01T15:57:28","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T19:57:28","slug":"bethlehem-area-school-district-releases-second-season-of-built-by-bethlehem-podcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=93277","title":{"rendered":"Bethlehem Area School District Releases Second Season of  \u201cBuilt by Bethlehem\u201d Podcast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><strong>Podcast to focus on student, district, and community stories<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>BETHLEHEM, PA (July 1, 2019) &#8211; The Bethlehem Area School District recently released the second season of its \u201cBuilt by Bethlehem Podcast\u201d featuring recently graduated students from both Freedom and Liberty high schools.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>The series, which is hosted by BASD Superintendent, Dr. Joseph J. Roy, focuses on the students and how they have taken advantage of opportunities that the community provides for them in school. The Built by Bethlehem Podcast is produced by students in Liberty High School teacher Timothy Treweek\u2019s class, who make up Bethlehem Sound, an independent record label, recording studio, and production company, run entirely by student artists and engineers.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>The title of the podcast, \u201cBuilt by Bethlehem\u201d is meant to reinforce the idea that our schools are supported by our community and our schools then give back to the community through graduates that go on to live and work in Bethlehem.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>The ten interviews wind from students\u2019 beginnings in the district, whether they begin in Kindergarten or are transfer students from other countries to their planned futures post graduation.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Roy said the podcast medium is one that allows for an even better look at what\u2019s going on within the district.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cI want to take advantage of multiple social media tools to share BASD news and interviews,\u201d he said. \u201cThe podcast allows for short, interesting conversations with students and BASD community members about their experiences with the district.
