The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania (BIAPA) is to maximize the quality of life for those with brain injuries and their families.<\/p>\n<p>Yatsko has been a brain injury awareness advocate and public speaker for more than a decade. While in high school, the Tamaqua native sustained a brain injury playing basketball. After many unsuccessful treatment options, she met a specialist who helped her overcome her disability. Yatsko has made it her mission to use her voice to stand up for the brain injury community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is fascinating to see how life comes full circle,\u201d Yatsko said. \u201cAs a teenager, I worked to protect youth athletes from concussions. Now, nearly a decade later, I can truly create serious change. It is no longer about me, it is about preventing brain injury and protecting all survivors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March 2019, during Brain Injury Awareness Month, Yatsko produced and hosted a special on brain injury called <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlvt.org\/television\/out-of-the-darkness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Out of the Darkness<\/a><\/em>. During her time at PBS39, Yatsko has hosted and produced <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlvt.org\/television\/your-take\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Your Take with Tracy Yatsko<\/a><\/em> and two seasons of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlvt.org\/reportersroundtable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reporters Roundtable<\/a><\/em>. She has hosted a live community forum on safety in schools, produced and appeared in segments of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlvt.org\/television\/letsgo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Let\u2019s Go!<\/a><\/em> and starred in a two-part summer series, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlvt.org\/television\/tracy-tries-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tracy Tries It<\/a><\/em>.
