\nYatsko, a brain injury survivor and awareness advocate, will join the Pennsylvania affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bethlehem, PA. – July 2, 2019<\/strong> – PBS39\u2019s Tracy Yatsko has been named to the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania\u2019s Board of Directors. The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania (BIAPA) is to maximize the quality of life for those with brain injuries and their families.<\/p>\n

Yatsko has been a brain injury awareness advocate and public speaker for more than a decade. While in high school, the Tamaqua native sustained a brain injury playing basketball. After many unsuccessful treatment options, she met a specialist who helped her overcome her disability. Yatsko has made it her mission to use her voice to stand up for the brain injury community.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is fascinating to see how life comes full circle,\u201d Yatsko said. \u201cAs a teenager, I worked to protect youth athletes from concussions. Now, nearly a decade later, I can truly create serious change. It is no longer about me, it is about preventing brain injury and protecting all survivors.\u201d<\/p>\n

In March 2019, during Brain Injury Awareness Month, Yatsko produced and hosted a special on brain injury called Out of the Darkness<\/a><\/em>. During her time at PBS39, Yatsko has hosted and produced Your Take with Tracy Yatsko<\/a><\/em> and two seasons of Reporters Roundtable<\/a><\/em>. She has hosted a live community forum on safety in schools, produced and appeared in segments of Let\u2019s Go!<\/a><\/em> and starred in a two-part summer series, Tracy Tries It<\/a><\/em>. Yatsko also contributes stories to PBS39 News Tonight<\/a> as a special correspondent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe impact of Tracy Yatsko\u2019s work extends beyond the Greater Lehigh Valley,\u201d Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer at PBS39 said. \u201c She is a tremendous ambassador for both PBS39 and the brain injury community.\u201d<\/p>\n
