She has completed medical training in both psychiatry and pediatrics and is triple board certified in Psychiatry, Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatry, and Pediatrics. In addition to providing administrative leadership for the medical staff at the hospital, she will also participate in<\/p>\n<p>providing clinic care for patients as part of KidsPeace\u2019s interdisciplinary treatment team approach.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Farrell comes to KidsPeace from serving as a child &amp; adolescent psychiatrist and<\/p>\n<p>behavioral health program director at Children\u2019s Comprehensive Care clinic of Dell Children\u2019s Medical Center, and on the clinical faculty for child &amp; adolescent psychiatry services at the<\/p>\n<p>Seton Mind Institute, both in Austin, TX. She is the author of numerous academic presentations and publications, and has been an assistant professor with The University of Texas medical school system since 2010, most recently with The UT Dell Medical School in Austin.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Farrell received her medical degree from Yale University and a master\u2019s degree and Ph.D. in chemical engineering\/molecular bioengineering from the University of Illinois. She completed a combined residency in pediatrics, psychiatry and child &amp; adolescent psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Farrell brings a wealth of clinical experience and academic leadership to her role at KidsPeace, and we\u2019re<\/p>\n<p>delighted to have her join our team,\u201d said Dr. Matthew Koval, KidsPeace\u2019s Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. \u201cDr. Farrell\u2019s training and board certification as a child psychiatrist and a pediatrician makes her ideally suited to lead our medical staff to provide the high quality psychiatric care that our clients deserve here at KidsPeace Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKidsPeace has assembled an amazing leadership team, with a commitment to excellence in serving children with emotional and behavioral needs and their families. I look forward to joining their team and working toward further improvements in mental health care locally, regionally, and nationally,\u201d Dr. Farrell said.<\/p>\n<p>KidsPeace Hospital is a 120-bed free-standing facility that serves children, adolescents and young adults (ages 4 to 20-1\/2 years) who require short-term inpatient psychiatric care.
