This partnership is an excellent opportunity to expand comedy\u2019s reach in the Valley. Laughs at The Lyric<\/i><\/b> kicks off on September 25 with three fantastic comedians booked so far on the lineup: Roya Hamadani, Tyler Rothrock, and Darryl Charles.<\/b><\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
Roya Hamadani <\/b>\u00a0has performed at SteelStacks, Musikfest, Philly Punchline and venues all over Pennsylvania.\u00a0 She co-hosts the bimonthly open mic \u201cStout Laughs\u201d in Bethlehem and will be performing at the Scranton \u201cFringefest\u201d in October.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
Tyler Rothrock <\/b>is a Nazareth-born stand-up comic and writer who has performed all over the country, including opening sets for Michael Che, Dave Attell, Roy Wood Jr. and more.\u00a0 He recorded his first album, Tyler of Nazareth, at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
Darryl Charles <\/b>is a comedian based mostly out of Philadelphia. He’s been seen on The Travel Channel\u2019s “Mysteries At The Museum” and the Comedy Central web series “Delco Proper.” He does stand-up and has opened for a variety of performers like Adam Ferrara, Greg Fitzsimmons, Dave Attell, Patrice O’Neal, and Dick Gregory. He performs improv comedy and has been a member of ComedySportz Philadelphia since 2011. Charles is also a sketch comedy writer and performer, doing most of that work with the sketch group The Layoff Kids, which have been featured on Funny or Die. <\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Lyric Room at Miller Symphony Hall<\/b><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
In Fall 2018, a newly innovative vibe enhanced the downtown Allentown Arts District when Miller Symphony Hall unveiled The Lyric Room<\/b>, an intimate, cabaret-style venue with limited seating for concerts, receptions, special events, and public gatherings.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
In creating The Lyric Room, two unfinished storefront spaces at MSH were renovated and the exterior store display windows (which were added to the Hall in the 1940s) were replaced by large windows, restoring the grandeur of the fa\u00e7ade as shown in a 1926 architectural drawing held by the Library of Congress. The design of the room allows for variable seating and includes an outdoor terrace. This beautiful and highly visible new space is an important new player in the vibrant Downtown Allentown arts community.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
