The rating will be displayed on the Nursing Home Compare website on or around August 28, 2019. Previously, when it was under the administration of Premier, Gracedale had been rated as two stars. Northampton County reassumed control of the facility in January 2019.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe need to continue to work to have a five-star rating,\u201d says Lamont McClure, \u201cbut as long as Gracedale is striving to meet our moral obligation of taking care of those who can no longer care for themselves while balancing the interests of the taxpayers who pay the bills, we\u2019re on the right track.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Gracedale is the largest county-owned nursing home under one roof in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It currently serves 654 residents. According to Census data, other nursing homes in Pennsylvania only serve an average of 109.8 residents.\u00a0The U.S. average is 86.1. Eight-seven percent of Gracedale\u2019s residents are recipients of Medicaid and represent 44% of the entire Medicaid nursing home population in Northampton County.
