{"id":96406,"date":"2019-10-31T22:56:40","date_gmt":"2019-11-01T02:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=96406"},"modified":"2019-10-31T22:56:40","modified_gmt":"2019-11-01T02:56:40","slug":"pbs39-names-new-scholastic-scrimmage-host-for-46th-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=96406","title":{"rendered":"PBS39 Names New Scholastic Scrimmage Host for 46th Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Media professional David Graf, a former contestant, will host and moderate the longest running program on PBS39.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bethlehem, PA. &#8211; October 29, 2019 &#8211; <\/strong>PBS39, an entity of Lehigh Valley Public Media, named David Graf as the host of the 46th season of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlvt.org\/education\/scholastic-scrimmage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>Scholastic Scrimmage<\/i><\/a>, a televised academic quiz show for high schools in the region. Graf is a former contestant, having competed on the show in 2001 for Pen Argyl Area High School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome David as our host for this season,\u201d said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media. \u201cHis enthusiasm for Scholastic Scrimmage and its mission makes him a valuable asset to the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Graf has been a media professional for more than 13 years, producing content for six years for Rodale\u2019s <i>Runner\u2019s World Magazine<\/i>, <i>Bicycling Magazine<\/i>, <i>Prevention<\/i>, and <i>Organic Life<\/i>. His work has also appeared on NBC\u2019s <i>Today Show<\/i>, HBO\u2019s <i>Real Sports<\/i>, <i>Cheddar<\/i>, <i>ESPN.com<\/i>, <i>Access Hollywood<\/i>, <i>RunDisney<\/i>, and CBS\u2019s <i>The Doctors<\/i>. Currently, he is the Creative Producer for Reeb\u00ae. Graf holds an MBA from Cedar Crest College and a bachelor\u2019s degree in Digital Media and Broadcast Production from Marywood University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be the host for this season of <i>Scholastic Scrimmage<\/i>,\u201d said Graf. \u201cI love that the competition highlights schools of all sizes from across the region in a challenging show of academic prowess.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show will feature more than 130 students from 29 area high schools. At the end of the season, the top two schools win cash prizes for their schools, provided by program partner grants. The first place school receives $4,000 and the second place school receives $2,000 for their scholarship funds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScholastic Scrimmage has been our longest running show on PBS39!\u201d said Cate Reifsnyder, Manager of Education at Lehigh Valley Public Media. \u201cWe are proud to continue to showcase the many amazingly bright students from area high schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scholastic Scrimmage premieres in November on PBS39.
