{"id":96500,"date":"2019-11-06T00:35:03","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T05:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=96500"},"modified":"2021-06-03T21:54:50","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T01:54:50","slug":"statement-from-northampton-countys-election-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=96500","title":{"rendered":"STATEMENT FROM NORTHAMPTON COUNTY&#8217;S ELECTION OFFICE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>The following is a statement from Amy Hess, the Acting Registrar for the Election\u2019s Office of Northampton County.<\/h1>\n<p>Voters in Northampton County reported irregularities while voting on the ES&amp;S ExpressVote XL machines during the election held on November 5, 2019. Multiple employees from the Elections Office and ES&amp;S worked throughout the day to address reported issues.<\/p>\n<p>During the initial reading of the results, it became apparent that there was a problem with the tabulation in some of the precincts. After receiving information from Northampton County, the Pennsylvania Department of State instructed the County to use the paper ballots, not the machine count, to tabulate results.
