Guy Masterson is a\u00a0London based\u00a0actor, director, producer, and writer. His globally-successful solo-genre productions led to him winning an Olivier Award for his production of\u00a0Morecambe\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>in 2010.\u00a0 He is also the most successful and award-winning independent theatre producer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he has presented over\u00a0125\u00a0shows in\u00a026\u00a0consecutive seasons.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Masterson\u2019s lineage in the entertainment industry is remarkable; he is the\u00a0great-nephew\u00a0of Richard Burton and second cousin of Italian superstar Marcello Mastroianni.\u00a0 He began his own acting journey in 1985 when he enrolled at UCLA\u2019s School of Drama and started acting professionally in Hollywood.\u00a0 After a conventional start in plays, film, and television, he returned to the UK in 1989 to study Classical Performance at LAMDA. Masterson began directing in 1991 with Peter Shaffer\u2019s\u00a0The Public Ear & The Private Eye<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 His mono-drama about his great-uncle,\u00a0Playing Burton,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0hit the Edinburgh festival in 1994 and his\u00a0success\u00a0continued for the next three decades with a long list of successful directing, acting and producing credits.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Masterson\u2019s 2017 solo production of\u00a0Dickens\u2019 A Christmas Carol<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0has\u00a0also\u00a0received rave reviews both on tour and at the Edinburgh Festival.
