This Saturday, November 30 from 10 AM to 2 PM, fifteen local businesses will open their doors to shoppers for a fun-filled kick-off to the holiday shopping season!<\/p>\n<p>The Chamber will be hosting a welcome\/registration booth at Melvin\u2019s Farm Stand+, located at 327 Front Street in Catasauqua. The first 50 participants will receive a free \u201cShop Small\u201d tote bag filled with promotional items from local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The participating businesses include: Bridge Street Family Restaurant, Melvin\u2019s Farm Stand, Violet\u2019s Closet, Hartzell\u2019s Pharmacy, Blocker\u2019s Coffee House, Wisdom Highlights Salon, Catty Corner Neighborhood Pub &amp; Pie, Nice to Be Kneaded, Qi Spa, Cathy\u2019s Creative Catering, Blondie\u2019s Cupcakes, Jupiter Crush, Makeup by Roxy, Taylor House Brewing, and Tony\u2019s Top Cat Bar &amp; Grill. Some deals include, $10 Spa Dollars at Qi Spa, one free cupcake with any purchase at Blondie\u2019s Cupcakes, 25% off an purchased service at Nice To Be Kneaded, $1 blowout sale off of the entire store at Violet\u2019s Closet, purchase a $50 gift card and only pay $40 at Catty Corner and so much more!<\/p>\n<p>At 1 PM, the Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce will also host a ribbon cutting welcoming Melvin\u2019s Farm Stand+ to the community! In celebration of their grand opening, Melvin\u2019s Farm Stand+ will be hosting Santa Clause for free pet photos from 12 PM \u2013 2 PM. Additionally, The Gas House Dance Hall (adjacent to Melvin\u2019s) will have a Little Elves Shoppe for young shoppers (with all gifts $5 or less) and Santa\u2019s helpers to assist children as they shop in a safe space for parents and family members (parents must remain on premises). In addition, Melvin\u2019s will host a variety of crafters and vendors, as well as their fresh cut Christmas Trees.<\/p>\n<p>Small Business Saturday is a national shopping event to support small and local businesses during the holiday season and throughout the year. Created in 2009 in the midst of the recession to put emphasis on small businesses, Small Business Saturday is celebrating its 10<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary and has grown to over 7,500 neighborhood partners and businesses supporting the event throughout the United States! According to American Express, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays within the local community, thus supporting local initiatives and residents alike.<\/p>\n<p>Kylie Adams, Manager of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, stated that \u201cCatasauqua has such a wide footprint of unique small businesses and incredible people who make up their workforce; by bringing Small Business Saturday to Catasauqua, we hope to shine a light on the businesses and business owners who are creative, innovative and bringing excitement to the borough!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jessica O\u2019Donnell, EVP, Affiliated Chamber and Catasauqua Main Streets Liaison mentioned, \u201cWhen you shop local in Catasauqua on Saturday the 30th, you are celebrating the uniqueness of this community.
