Join us as we celebrate books &#8211; their authors, illustrators, and readers! The festival will host creative and informative programs, including activities for all ages in and around the Lehigh Valley. The Lehigh Valley Book Festival will be an annual event.<\/p>\n<p>The main event will take place on Saturday, 3\/28, at the Bethlehem Area Public Library. From 10am to 4pm, there will be author and illustrator talks &amp; panel discussions, as well as educational programs.\u00a0 Families will enjoy concurrent programing of Kids\u2019 Fest (10am-1pm) and Teens\u2019 Fest (2-4pm). Best-selling author Gregg Hurwitz, <em>Into the Fire: An Orphan X Novel<\/em> (Minotaur Books, 1\/28\/20, $27.99) will lead the Keynote Session, an author-packed panel discussion about the role of storytelling in today\u2019s society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Lehigh Valley Book Festival has been in the works for over 5 years. It was important to build the community connections required to pull off such a large-scale, collaborative event. Partnering with the Bethlehem Area Public Library, working with director Josh Berk, has made this event possible.\u201d said Kirsten Hess, owner of Let\u2019s Play Books Bookstore in Emmaus. The festival will host authors and illustrators touring for their new front-list books, with release dates from October 2019 through March 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lehigh Valley Book Festival, Saturday, 3\/28\/20 10am \u2013 4pm <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bethlehem Area Public Library<br \/>\n11 West Church Street<br \/>\nBethlehem, PA 18018\u00a0Free, open to all.<\/p>\n<p>A variety of individual events will surround the main day of the festival, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Friday, 3\/27 &#8211; Authors\u2019 &amp; Illustrators\u2019 Reception (ticketed)<\/strong> \u2013 PBS39, South Side, Bethlehem, PA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sunday, 3\/29 \u2013 Programs and speakers at the Arts Quest\/Steel Stacks<\/strong> in Bethlehem and Let\u2019s Play Books Bookstore, in Emmaus, PA as well as other area locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading into the weekend will be a writers\u2019 conference, <strong>Diverse Communities and the Writer\u2019s Voice<\/strong>, sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Engaged Humanities Consortium\u2019s Writers\u2019 Community and the Moravian College Writers\u2019 Conference. The conference features Daisey Hernandez, author of the award-winning memoir <em>A Cup of Water Under My Bed<\/em> and coeditor of <em>Colonize This!
