Seven area artists, including one high school winner, to have their work featured on Adams Outdoor Advertising billboards in 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

BETHLEHEM, PA–Dynamic stained glass, oil, acrylic and digital illustration pieces are among the diverse selection of works that will be highlighted on area billboards this year as part of The Creative Drive billboard competition presented by Adams Outdoor Advertising, Pocono Arts Council, ArtsQuest and Kutztown University. The winning artists, selected via a juried competition, will have their work displayed on Adams Outdoor Advertising billboards on major thoroughfares in the region from Feb. 10 through early January 2021.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 2019-\u201920 Creative Drive Competition was open to artists residing in Berks, Bucks, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Pike and Wayne counties. Among the seven winners is Alyssa Landolfi of Nazareth Area High School, who impressed the judges with her colorful acrylic work, \u201cCaroline.\u201d Landolfi will not only have her work on a billboard for all of 2020, she will also be awarded a cash prize of $500 and a $2,500 scholarship to a Kutztown University art program by the Kutztown University Foundation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdams Outdoor Advertising is proud to provide a platform for these\u00a0talented local artists to display their winning designs,\u201d says Adams Outdoor Advertising General Manager Bill Platko. \u201cCongratulations to all of the artists for their participation. We look forward to seeing their designs come to life on Adams Outdoor Advertising displays.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the scholastic winner, the official jurying panel selected five artists ages 18 or older to be featured on area billboards this year. The seventh winner, Thomas Kay of Bethlehem, was chosen as the \u201cPeople\u2019s Choice Winner\u201d through a public vote in December.<\/p>\n

Celebrating its inaugural year,\u00a0The Creative Drive continues the tradition of ArtPop Street Gallery as a public art initiative highlighting the work of area artists on Adams Outdoor Advertising billboards in the region. The program is made possible through a partnership between Adams Outdoor Advertising, Pocono Arts Council, Kutztown University and ArtsQuest\u2019s Banana Factory Arts Center, and is open to artists from suburban Philadelphia to the Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton region.<\/p>\n
