LEHIGH VALLEY LIGHTS UP RED FOR POPPIES OF REMEMBRANCE, LANTERNS OF HOPE

ArtsQuest and New Bethany Ministries are joining forces on Friday, August 13 to honor those we lost and those fighting on the frontlines of the pandemic.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In honor of those impacted by COVID-19, ArtsQuest and New Bethany Ministries are presenting Poppies of Remembrance, Lanterns of Hope, with proceeds benefitting both organizations. Musikfest performers and attendees will be asked to #PauseTheMusik at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 13 for a moment of silence in recognition of those we have lost during the pandemic. More than 200 volunteers will participate in Luminaria Night, where red lanterns will mark the occasion throughout the city of Bethlehem.

The Blast Furnaces, City Center Allentown, Lehigh Valley Health Network, St. Luke’s University Health Network, Moravian University and Nitschmann Middle School will also show support by lighting up red. Community members are encouraged to participate at home by purchasing lantern bouquets. Donations in lieu of lanterns will also be accepted.

Proceeds will help support ArtsQuest’s mission to provide access to exceptional artistic, cultural and educational experiences, enriching our community, and New Bethany Ministries’ mission to offer hope and support to those experiencing poverty, hunger and homelessness.
