Are you considering joining or currently serving on a nonprofit board and want to become a more informed participant? Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is offering LEAD Now; a 5-part leadership training program that provides relevant guidance on nonprofit board service. Support the fight against hunger! Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank is seeking volunteers to pick up donated items from Big Lots on Lehigh Street once every 1-2 weeks. Assist with literacy activities in a kindergarten or first grade classroom in the Allentown School District one hour per week or more. Clearances and attendance at an orientation session are required. Our next orientation session is scheduled from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11 at Hays Elementary School, Allentown. Working together with 3-4 people, Earn a Bike is an opportunity to teach life lessons through bicycle mechanics. Meet 4-6 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday. You do not have to commit to each day.
